It's a beautiful day!

Seepy girl...LOVE the stripey pants!
Fergie has been so good with Zoey; of course, we're always being careful with her around, too. She's about to go on a walk/run in the desert with Bryan and Aunt Sarah. She's SUPER happy!

We're still in disbelief that 9 months ago this little girl was just a couple of cells...that she grew inside of me so perfectly...and now she's here for us to enjoy for the rest of our lives. The human body is an incredibly amazing thing that I have so much respect for...and the grandeur of the human spirit is beautiful.

"Daddy Hearts Me" - yes, he does!

Good morning everyone! Last night we actually felt like we got some good sleep... Zoey went to bed after a good feeding when we did, and she woke up every 3-4 hours for another meal, which isn't too bad. Bryan's been really good about bringing her to me in the middle of the night and then changing her diapers and putting her back down. This morning at about 0530, Bryan let Grammy Dill hold her while we both slept for another 3 hours. Oh man...it feels like I'm actually awake when I'm awake!

Miss Moon is starting to stay awake during the day longer...more times of being alert and explorative with her eyes. She's so fascinating! This morning she actually smiled at me --- on purpose! Up until now, her little laughs and smiles have been involuntary, and you can tell her little smile muscles struggling to get those adorable lips up! I guess it's true: it takes more muscles to smile than to frown!!! She's going to have an adorable smile that I'm sure will melt our hearts every time we see it... This could be our downfall, too. LOL

It seems like she's waking up at about the same time every morning, around 0530, so we're going to try and keep her on a routine. Of course, she'll dictate this routine for a while, and it will change, of course. Starting tomorrow we're going to begin a "bedtime" ritual with her. We'll prepare her for bedtime by bathing her, changing her into pjs, reading a book, singing to her, and saying her prayers at the same time every night. That way, when she is a little older she'll recognize these actions as a sign that it's time for bed...hoping that it will set the mood. Not saying she won't fuss and cry, probably, but the consistency should provide comfort to her, in a way. That's our plan, anyhow.
