I'm finally posting the "edited" pictures that the photographer Photoshopped...they are cute, and I love the one of Bryan and Zoey Moon. I didn't like ANY of the pics with me in it, so...we chose not to get any of those edited.
So Zoey has been sleeping REALLY well on our chests, skin-to-skin, (which means WE'VE been sleeping better) and we have come to believe that she hates her bassinet. Of course, it's hard...cold...and lonely! Who wouldn't hate it?! Especially when the other option is mom or dad's soft, warm chest...hehehe I have this huge fear of smothering her, rolling over on her, her rolling off of us...but I also have SO many friends who co-sleep and promote it when it's done safely. It IS a very rewarding, comforting thing... I LOVE being close to her and know that this is the time to do it...when she won't get spoiled and expect to sleep in our bed every night. That's definitely not a habit we want to create! Plus, I had the lactation consultant out to teach me how to breastfeed while laying down - how to get positioned safely, etc. - and we've done that several times, too, and it's worked out well. She also doesn't seem to like being swaddled...at least with her arms inside. She ALWAYS squirms her arms out of not only the blanket but her outfit, too! So, when she's got an arm or both outside of the blanket, she seems much more content.
I've been on a chocolate-covered pretzel kick lately. I've made a ton of them! AGH! So, I've told myself that I can be lazy with my restraint on treats until my first doctor's appointment next Tuesday. After that, I will be strict! I want to get back in really great shape - better than even before I got pregnant! I'd really love to run a half-marathon this year.
Zoey and I took a bath this morning, and she seems to just LOVE the warm water. When I run the water over her head she just looks at me like, "Ahhhhhhhhhhhh..." It's like an instant coma-maker! LOL
We're going to buy a used gas dryer today; we've never had gas before (haha...very funny!), and it's so much cheaper than electricity! Buuut, the drawback, for me anyhow, is that it IS gas. Every time I turn the stove on I'm worried about a gas leak or something! Every so often I wonder through the house thinking I smell a gas leak. Can anyone say "worrywart"?! AGH! Lia, my sister, uses gas, too, and loves cooking with a gas stove. I have really enjoyed it myself!
